Spring time is here!
Warmer weather is around the corner, spring flowers are blooming and it is time for a spring cleaning! While spring cleaning indicates spring is finally here, it also means that cleaning gutters, yard work, and cleaning out the garage can cause injury. Here are just a few tips to keep yourself injury free:
- When lifting any object remember to lift with your legs. What this means is have your feet shoulder width apart, bend at the knees, arch your back, keep your abdominal muscles tight, and lift with your legs.
- Avoid any prolong squatting. Whenever possible sit or at the very least kneel on one knee and swich often. If you are going to kneel perhaps use padding such as knee pads.
- Avoid twisting your body when sweeping. Instead use your legs to shift your weight forward and backward.
